to relive the memories and times of legendary personalities of Lucknow, at Karamat Husain Girl’s PG College,Lucknow on 9th April ’25.
Members of Aadaab Arz Lucknow a social awareness group organized the event, with support of Kabir Manjari Sanskritic Club, students and staff of Karamat college to pay tribute to the times of legendary personalities of Lucknow.
The session was hosted by famous personality, Russian language Professor Dr Sabra Habib who spoke about her various experiences and incidents with a legendary gazal singer Begum Akhtar and her experience with her in Russia. Dr Sabra also spoke about the importance of keeping cultural values and languages intact in the modern era.
The principal of Karamat PG College- Dr Huma Khwaja spoke about the rich history of Karamat and emphasized having more such cultural events in college. Dr Ishrat Nauheed spoke on the famous luminary of Lucknow- Arif Naqvi and how his love and passion for Urdu made him famous in Germany as well. Dr. Parveen Shujat walked the audience through the great work by Munshi Newal Kishore and his press which did publications of Holy Quran, and Ramayana and Mahabharat with equal respect and was a famous name in the city Ganga-Jamuni Tehzeeb. Mehrotra spoke about the importance of today’s youth to know about such personalities of the city and staying connected with roots. The event was concluded by singing our National Anthem.
